sexyhera2.jpg (44268 bytes) Exceptionally beautiful antique cameo brooch of the goddess Hebe among the clouds, raising a bowl.  Circa 1910.  An unusually detailed and realistic depiction of a female nude in graceful fluid motion.  The setting is not marked but tests as 14k gold.  Old style clasp, fold down swiveling pendant bail. Cameo measures nearly 2 1/2  inches, including the setting.  Flawless condition (small line on back is a light reflection, swirling color variation is natural to shell).
SOLD
Antique Victorian Cameo Brooch Victorian cameo brooch of Hebe feeding the eagle of Zeus. The beautiful setting is unmarked and untested, but has the look and feel of high-carat gold. C-clasp, t-hinge, and extended pinstem. Cameo measures an impressive 2 1/2 inches (62 mm) including frame. Condition is near perfect, with no wear and a few very light very small stress lines visible when the cameo is held to the light.
SOLD
Arethusa Cameo Brooch Antique cameo brooch of the water nymph Arethusa. Twisted wire brass frame, gilded a bright gold. My camera made the background shell slightly seem more reddish than it truly is and also muted the brightness of the frame. Circa 1850. 2-1/4 inches including frame. There is writing scratched on the back that is mostly illegible, possibly "Cav ref" or "Car..." and the number (date?)1855. The clasp was replaced with a more secure safety clasp at some point. There is one very small, very light stress line (only visible when held to the light) and a few small areas of slight darkening on the frame. Otherwise, like-new condition.
SOLD
diamonds.jpg (146234 bytes) Antique Shell Cameo Habille Brooch / Pendant.
A turn-of-the-century cameo brooch - pendant depicting a woman wearing a necklace and earring of genuine diamonds set into the shell.  The white gold filigree setting is marked 14k.  The swivel pendant bail can be folded down out of sight when the cameo is worn as a brooch.  Cameo measures just over 2 1/4 inches (5.5 cm) including frame.  Condition is near perfect, with no wear and only very light growth lines visible when the cameo is held to the light.  The color of the cameo appears darker in the photo, the figure of the woman is a brighter, creamier white.

Available on new site.
lionhunt.jpg (119214 bytes) Victorian carved shell cameo brooch depicting a barefoot female warrior on horseback spearing an attacking lion. The frame is gold plated. The cameo swivels and the reverse is a glass compartment. This may have been a mourning piece and the compartment probably held a hair memento. At this time it only contains a piece of green velvet. C-clasp, t-hinge. The cameo itself measures nearly 2 inches, including the frame, the entire piece is almost 2-3/4 inches. The cameo itself has a bit of roughness along the edge on the top and bottom (seen only under magnification) and two very light stress lines. The frame has significant wear to the plating, a couple fine scratches and some very small dents.
Available on new site.
